The Role

 

In this role, you will provide complete electrical and PC/PLC controls commissioning for Automatic Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS) crane based technology within cost and time scale constraints of a material-handling project, whilst ensuring the solution meets the requirements of the project. Duties will include:

  • Ensure systems supplied are CE Compliant to the Machinery Directive
  • Commission safety related part of the Controls system solutions to the regulations and in accordance with BS EN ISO 13849/13850/60204 etc
  • Production of all associated documentation including, but not limited to, calculations, specifications, operation and maintenance instructions and manuals, and test specifications
  • Commissioning of electrical control panels and liaising with suppliers on technical matters
  • Supporting the procurement of electrical and mechanical installation services and liaise with suppliers on technical matters
  • Produce required Health and Safety documentation including, but not limited to Method Statements and Risk Assessments
  • Commission PC / PLC controls systems utilized on Automated Crane storage systems on site and to provide support to overall system commissioning activities
  • Provide automated crane system training for the end user

What We Are Looking For

To apply for this role, in your application you must evidence:

  • Essential: HNC/HND level of understanding in a Controls or Electrical Engineering discipline
  • Desirable: Educated to HNC/HND level in a relevant discipline
  • Experience in a similar role 
  • Proven extensive hands-on experience working within an industrial automation environment
  • Advanced understanding of PLC, SCADA development tools
  • Working understanding of Electrical and Electronic technical manuals & drawings
  • Good understanding of distributed control systems
  • Working knowledge of FEM and BS standards governing the automated warehouse industry
  • Previous use of CAD tools
