The Role

The Role: 


We are now looking to add to our team the truly business critical role of Procurement Senior Manager Southern Europe - Resale.  Leading a team of 12 and reporting to EU Senior Procurement Director, this highly influential position will own and drive project procurement execution for Dematic.  Essential to the role is to support the regional growth, lead the cross-country organization and implement the global “Dematic way” for Procurement project excellence.  The focus of this role is to ensure that suppliers deliver on-time, on-budget and at the right quality levels to meet customer expectations.  The role is also responsible to ensure tactical procurement duties are conducted with process excellence for high forecast reliability for a project-based business. 

The role is not responsible for sourcing. 


Key responsibilities:


Lead the Procurement Project Leads (PPLs) and the tactical buyers for the SE region

  • Lead the Procurement Project Leads (PPLs) who are the single-point-of contacts for the project teams.
  • Ensure the PPLs track the ‘as-sold’ budget to the customer vs. the ‘as-executed’ to capture Procurement cost savings/inflation performance
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (at all levels and countries) to ensure (internal) customer satisfaction and project execution
  • Driving implementation, maintenance, compliance of the procurement policies and procedures.
  • Contributing to strategic deliverables, and actively promoting continuous improvement.
  • Active member of the SE cross-functional leadership team


Main duties:

  • Advocate as the ‘voice of the customer’ to Category leads to ensure sourcing requirements are met/exceeded.
  • Ensure the sourcing strategies set by EU-Category leaders are followed
  • Motivate, coach and otherwise lead the SE Procurement team for high and improving standards of performance
  • Collaborate with Project managers and Finance to develop and execute revenue forecast based on percent of completions setup.
  • Identify Procurement-related business risk (supply, compliance, financial, etc.), quantify the risk and develop plans to mitigate.

What We Are Looking For


  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • MBA preferred
  • CIPS, CPSM, or relevant certification (preferred)

Knowledge and Experience:

  • +10 years of Procurement and/or relative work experience
  • Bi-lingual is preferred
    • Key languages English, Spanish, French and Italian
  • Specific experience working in a complex and fast-growing environment (preferred)
  • Experience project management, materials management, planning to execution and receipt of goods at the job site
  • Demonstrates and applies advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for area managed and expert knowledge of other areas in the company and how they interact.
  • Demonstrates advance understanding and application of management approaches for work direction, motivation, and performance management.
  • Continuous improvement mindset
