The role involves learning and developing standard controls software for mobile robotics applications, Autonomous Guided Vehicles, PLC or other real-time/embedded controller platforms.
As part of an international and multicultural team within the software development organization, you will be responsible for delivering this software for our global customers, in partnership with our product management, application engineering and customer service groups
o Assisting product and technical engineers in developing solutions.
o Responsible for design and implementation of on-board software specifications.
o Programming utilizing accepted software coding standards and tools.
o Testing, debugging and troubleshooting of software systems.
o Supports Application Engineering & Sales
o High level design, capacity & configuration requirements.
o Interface-level design including screen layouts, messaging and communications.
o System-level design describing implementation details of the on-board control system.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience.
o 5-8 years of software development experience
o Strong C/C++ programming skills
o Experience with motion controls for robotics systems
o Experience with embedded software development
o Experience with Real-time operating systems
o Experience with hardware communications protocols, implementation of device drivers
o Knowledge of autonomous navigation methods, localization and/or mapping.
o HMI/GUI development
o Knowledge of software/hardware setup and ability to understand electrical designs
o Experience with software version control (GIT)
o Good problem solving skills. Excellent communication skills
o Experience in the Material Handling Industry (preferred, but not mandatory)
